ABOUT TIERRAVIDA BËXON’TË

Living Earth. Living Medicine. Living Tradition.

Tierra Vida means the Earth is alive — a reminder that every plant, every animal, and every living being holds its own consciousness. The “living earth,” or Tierra Vida, is an interconnected organism that we are a part of and created from.

Bëxon’të is the Shipibo word for healing.
Together, TierraVida Bëxon’të reflects our commitment to working with the living earth and the Indigenous Shipibo community to support deep, authentic healing.

We work with Ayahuasca, known as the planta maestra — the master teacher plant. Ayahuasca teaches us about the life force of the Earth, how consciousness is connected, and how to walk the path of healing. Each ceremony is a unique experience of learning, purification, and inner transformation.

For thousands of years, Indigenous communities throughout the Amazon have used Ayahuasca for medicinal, spiritual, and cultural purposes. Often called the vine of the dead, Ayahuasca is believed to open the realms of the spirit world so one may receive guidance and healing.

Shipibo Onaya, the shamanic healers of the Shipibo-Konibo people, lead our ceremonies. Similar to doctors or spiritual leaders in Western culture, the Onaya carry generations of knowledge, guiding each participant with safety, intention, and integrity. In their lineage, Ayahuasca is considered the true teacher, connecting us to ancestral wisdom and directing healing where it is needed most.

The Shipibo share an origin story of a beloved ancient healer who, nearing death, told his people:

These two plants — Ayahuasca and Chacruna — remain at the center of Shipibo spiritual life, supporting both physical and energetic healing.

“When I die, plant my body at this tree. From it will grow the vine — Ayahuasca. Plant my wife’s body in a ceramic pot. From her will grow Chacruna. Together we will stay with you forever.”
